Dorm Room 1:
This dorm room was typically set up like any other one. The furniture was the same as when they moved in. When I walked in this room, I could automatically tell that this person was very girly. There were a lot of bright colors which opened up the room in my opinion and made it seem bigger. I could tell that the person spent a lot of time making their dorm room feel like home. They had a decent amount of pictures of their friends and family. She even brought her stuffed animal. The canvases below the gold initials were done by them and so were the circles with the post it notes hanging out. Even though she had no posters of the Beatles, I could tell she liked them because of the words "Let it Be" on her wall. I could tell that she was very neat and cared a lot about her room presentation. Her bed was made and her blanket was folded. Her desk and closet were the same way as the rest of her room. Everything was organized. From my observations, the girl living on that side of the room was very artsy, organized, and girly.

Dorm Room 2:
This is a dorm room of guys and as you can see they are very messy. Everything is kind of everywhere. Clothes are just scattered over the bed and so is their bedding. A lacrosse stick is in their room which means they are sporty. As for decorations on their desk and walls, there aren't really any. The person living on that side of the bed does have a calendar. As for the two desks, they don't have much on them. I feel like guys have a lot less things than girls. On their desk is a gaming system, TV, books, and the essential hygiene items. They also have a lot of bottles and muscle gainers which make me believe that they like to go to the gym and be active. There was not a lot of color in the room and with everything thrown everywhere made me think that they did not spend crazy amounts in their room.

Dorm Room 3:
From the looks of this picture, I gathered that the person who lives in this dorm spends a lot of time at their desk. Every where on the desk is being occupied by something. On the top of the self is jewelry and makeup/hair care products which means they get ready there. There are books spread throughout the desk so I can tell that the person spends a lot of time studying and actually takes use of their desk. Below the desk in the compartments are clothes and sweatshirts. The person living in this area was tripled so there was a limited amount of space. I could definitely tell because the person used all of their space as much as they could. They had a poster of flowers and a little flower painting which made me think that they liked the outdoors and are girly. There was a canvas of a man with an onion so that raised a couple of questions. The room color wise was just like the first room and it was pretty colorful. Overall, they weren't too messy or too clean.

What do the data you collect suggest to you about what it means to be a college student?
Each persons college dorm room is different and unique in their own way. Some people like in dorm room 1 and 3 like to get settled in and make their room feel like home. While others like in dorm room 2 kind of just have the basic necessities with no extra decorations. Personality and how organized you are has a lot to do with how your space is presented. I think for a college student it all depends on what kind of person you are. I like the rooms with personal pictures of friends and family because it gives me an insight of who they are. I also can relate because my dorm is filled with pictures of my friends from back home.

The time diaries helped me see how much time after our classes we have. It's what we do with our time that is important.
